Job Title: Team Lead Grid Connections

Salary: €120,000 + Bonus

Location: Flexible across Germany (but must be present on a regular basis in 1 of their offices)

 

One of my key clients are looking to make a crucial hire for their German team: a Team Lead Grid Connections. With multiple offices in Germany, and a lean grid team, it's the perfect time to establish yourself in this growing business!

 

You'll be working across their multi-megawatt, late-stage pipeline in Germany. As a team lead, you will combine technical expertise, project delivery responsibility, and people management. You will also assist as a grid specialist, completing grid connections from acquisition through to construction, and solving bottlenecks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical grid integration activities for utility-scale renewable energy developments, ensuring successful connection of wind and solar generation assets.
  • Coordinate engagement between network operators, transmission authorities, engineering contractors, certification bodies, and other key stakeholders to support project execution and regulatory approval.
  • Manage procurement and commercial processes for grid infrastructure works, including scope development, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and award recommendations.
  • Direct technical and commercial aspects of grid connection projects, overseeing programme delivery, capital expenditure, commissioning activities, compliance with applicable grid codes, and technical assessments for prospective project acquisitions.
  • Leading, management, and training of a small grid engineering team.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in electrical engineering (or similar).
  • 3-5 years' experience in medium & high voltage grid connections.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a team lead OR experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Proficient in using DIgSILENT PowerFactory & MATLAB concerning grid calculations e.g. short circuit, load flow.
  • Previous experience liaising with grid operators (DSOs and/or TSOs) to assess strategic points of connection & problem-solve bottlenecks / constraints.
  • Knowledge of VDE-A-RN 4110, 4120, 4130.
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage substations (e.g. planning, design, tendering, execution).
  • Renewables experience required, wind is a great addition!
  • Fluent German (C1/C2) -please note anything below this will not be considered

Sie arbeiten an einer umfangreichen Pipeline von Wind- und Solarenergieprojekten im Multi-Megawatt-Bereich in Deutschland, die sich bereits in einem fortgeschrittenen Entwicklungsstadium befinden. In dieser Führungsrolle verbinden Sie technische Expertise mit Projektverantwortung und Teamführung. Darüber hinaus unterstützen Sie als Grid-Spezialist die erfolgreiche Umsetzung von Netzanschlüssen - von der Projektakquisition bis zur Bauphase – und lösen technische Engpässe sowie Netzrestriktionen.

 

Hauptaufgaben

  • Verantwortung für die ganzheitliche Umsetzung von Netzanschluss- und Netzintegrationsaktivitäten für großskalige Wind- und Solarenergieprojekte.
  • Steuerung und Koordination der Zusammenarbeit mit Netzbetreibern, Übertragungsnetzbetreibern, Ingenieurdienstleistern, Zertifizierungsstellen und weiteren relevanten Stakeholdern zur Sicherstellung eines erfolgreichen Projektverlaufs und der regulatorischen Genehmigungen.
  • Verantwortung für Ausschreibungs-, Beschaffungs- und Vergabeprozesse im Zusammenhang mit Netzinfrastrukturmaßnahmen, einschließlich Leistungsbeschreibung, Lieferantenbewertung und Vertragsverhandlungen.
  • Technische und kommerzielle Leitung von Netzanschlussprojekten unter Berücksichtigung von Terminplanung, Investitionsbudgets (CAPEX), Inbetriebnahmen, Netzkonformität und technischer Due Diligence bei potenziellen Projektakquisitionen.
  • Fachliche und disziplinarische Führung sowie Weiterentwicklung eines kleinen Teams von Grid Engineers.

 

Ihr Profil

  • Abgeschlossenes Studium der Elektrotechnik oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung.
  • 3-5 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Bereich Mittel- und Hochspannungsnetzanschlüsse.
  • Mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung in einer Teamleitungsfunktion oder nachweisbare Erfahrung in der fachlichen Betreuung und Entwicklung von Junior Engineers.
  • Sicherer Umgang mit DIgSILENT PowerFactory und MATLAB zur Durchführung von Netzberechnungen, beispielsweise Lastfluss- und Kurzschlussanalysen.
  • Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit Verteilnetzbetreibern (DSOs) und/oder Übertragungsnetzbetreibern (TSOs) zur Bewertung geeigneter Netzverknüpfungspunkte sowie zur Lösung von Netzengpässen.
  • Kenntnisse der relevanten deutschen Netzanschlussrichtlinien, insbesondere VDE-AR-N 4110, 4120 und 4130.
  • Erfahrung im Bereich Mittelspannungsumspannwerke, beispielsweise in Planung, Auslegung, Ausschreibung und Umsetzung.
  • Erfahrung im Bereich erneuerbare Energien ist zwingend erforderlich; Kenntnisse im Windenergiesektor sind von Vorteil.
  • Verhandlungssichere Deutschkenntnisse (C1/C2). Bewerbungen mit geringerem Sprachniveau können leider nicht berücksichtigt werden.
