Job Title: Construction Manager – Utility-Scale PV & BESS

Location: Hamburg/Germany (flexible)

Salary: €80,000 + benefits

 

Piper Maddox is supporting a rapidly growing renewable energy developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the search for a Site Manager to support the delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects across Germany.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction and delivery of utility-scale PV and BESS projects.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and site activities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
  • Act as the key point of contact between site teams and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress, resolve issues and support successful project execution.

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing utility-scale Solar PV projects.
  • BESS experience is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of construction management and HSE requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors on site.
  • Fluent German and good English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across project locations within Germany.

Our client were founded close to a decade ago, and have some exciting growth plans looking ahead. With this in mind, our client is looking to hire an experienced professional in the sector to take on the role of Head of Utilities & Infrastructure. Project-wise, you would be working on a wide range of matters such as CPO, Wayleaves, Easements, Valuations, Option & Lease Agreements, and more general Landowner advisory matters. In terms of technology, they are currently working on a range of electrical infrastructure, cable routes, wind, and solar projects. In terms of background, our client are open to seeing candidates who have a range of years post qualification via the RICS pathway. Prior leadership experience is a bonus but not essential. Skipping forward to 2026, their Energy & Utilities team is currently their largest function and is a hugely exciting growth area for the business going forward. This company work across a wide variety of technologies and infrastructures including renewable energy, grid infrastructure, land diversification, and utilities. They are looking to add a Senior Surveyor, and the ideal level of experience here would be someone who is 1-2 years post APC qualification. In terms of industry body, it would be great to speak with candidates with MRICS or CAAV accreditations.
