About the Company

Our client is a leading developer, owner, and trader of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across North America. They are seeking a Vice President of Business Development to drive strategic growth and lead RNG project origination efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a growing team of business development and project origination professionals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and originate new RNG opportunities across landfill, dairy, and industrial feedstocks.
  • Structure, negotiate, and execute feedstock supply agreements, offtake contracts, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with feedstock providers, utilities, developers, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive commercial strategy and support project development from origination through execution.
  • Present pipeline updates, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Monitor industry trends, policy developments, and environmental credit markets to identify new growth opportunities.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven track record originating and developing RNG or biogas projects within the United States.
  • Experience leading and managing business development teams.
  • Strong network across feedstock suppliers, utilities, energy marketers, project developers, financiers, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of environmental credit programs, including RFS, LCFS, and voluntary carbon markets.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
