My client is a rapidly growing advanced energy and engineering technology company developing next-generation nuclear systems. As the organization continues to expand its reactor development efforts, they are seeking multiple Graphite Engineers across various experience levels to support the design, evaluation, and qualification of graphite materials and components used in advanced reactor technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, and qualification of graphite components for advanced reactor systems.
  • Evaluate graphite material properties including thermal conductivity, strength, oxidation resistance, creep behavior, and dimensional stability.
  • Perform engineering analyses to assess graphite performance in high temperature and irradiation environments.
  • Support material selection, supplier evaluations, and procurement specifications.
  • Develop material qualification plans, testing requirements, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, thermal, nuclear, and systems engineering.
  • Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and licensing support documentation.
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to the development of next-generation reactor technologies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Openings are available for engineers ranging from early career through senior and principal levels.
  • Experience with graphite, carbon-based materials, ceramics, or other high temperature materials preferred.
  • Knowledge of nuclear-grade graphite, HTGRs, advanced reactors, or nuclear materials is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of irradiation effects, oxidation behavior, fracture mechanics, creep, or materials characterization is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ASME standards, NRC regulations, or nuclear licensing processes is beneficial.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, MATLAB, or Python is preferred.
