DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES & SCOPE

  • Build and lead high-performing project teams, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, within agreed scope, on schedule, within budget, and in line with customer expectations.
  • Maintain project profitability through strong execution, resource management, and financial oversight.
  • Establish and manage project technical objectives, timelines, contractual obligations, staffing needs, and resource capacity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project processes and systems while supporting customer satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for both direct reports and broader project team members.
  • Interpret project contracts and, where applicable, review project-specific design and process requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and adjust priorities, milestones, and resources as customer needs, staffing, or project conditions change.
  • Serve as a key customer contact throughout the project lifecycle to ensure expectations, deliverables, and project requirements remain aligned.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractor performance to ensure work meets project scope, quality, schedule, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead project review activities with a strong focus on financial tracking, forecasting, and overall project performance.
  • Maintain proactive communication regarding project progress, potential risks, challenges, and successful outcomes.
  • Manage project invoicing in accordance with contractual terms and support the negotiation and execution of change orders.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of safety standards and practices across assigned projects.
  • Provide oversight to engineers working on design-build projects, ensuring designs are practical, efficient, and aligned with project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7–10+ years of project management experience within electrical construction, including responsibility for multiple projects running concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles and applications.
  • Hands-on field experience working alongside construction management teams.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, estimating/bids, take-offs, contracts, and change-order management.
  • Proven ability to establish customer and industry relationships and contribute to securing new project opportunities.
  • Track record of managing projects or portfolios successfully while maintaining profitability.
  • Strong communication and execution skills, with the ability to take initiative and clearly communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, motivational, and team-building capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction-site safety practices and requirements.
  • Design-build project experience is preferred.

Position OverviewThe Project Developer will be responsible for advancing utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout the development lifecycle, with primary responsibility for identifying opportunities, securing site control, managing stakeholders, coordinating permitting activities, and driving projects toward interconnection and construction readiness.
