Piper Maddox is partnering with a leading renewable energy producer in the waste-to-value energy sector, operating one of the largest on-farm anaerobic digesters at its facility in Indiana.

 

They are looking to bring on a Senior Process Engineer to support plant operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement.

 

This is a hands-on, onsite engineering role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex processes, improving plant performance, and taking ownership of projects from identification through implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor key process variables, production KPIs, and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations and equipment issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain PFDs, SOPs, standard work, and other process documentation.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant optimization, automation, efficiency, and equipment uptime.
  • Support SCADA, PLC, and control systems by reviewing systems, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities for automation improvements.
  • Support process safety initiatives, including PSM, PHA, HAZOP, HAZCOM, and Management of Change (MOC) programs.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of business and process expansions.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams while operating independently with a strong sense of ownership.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Process Engineering role.
  • Strong experience with process improvement, plant optimization, troubleshooting, and operational performance.
  • Experience working with process variables such as flow, temperature, and pressure, as well as developing operating and training documentation.
  • Experience developing PFDs, SOPs, and process systems/documentation.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA, PLCs, and control systems; programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience within RNG/biogas, renewable energy, power generation, oil & gas, wastewater, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or another industrial process environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work 5 days per week onsite.
