Senior Program Manager
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
About the Role This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth advanced nuclear company and take ownership of some of the most complex engineering and capital projects in the business. The role is ideal for a hands-on project leader who enjoys building structure within ambiguity, personally managing schedules and project controls, and driving alignment across highly technical teams. While nuclear experience is beneficial, the company is primarily seeking someone with a proven track record delivering large, interface-heavy engineering projects where success depended on coordinating multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and contractors. This individual will play a critical role in shaping project execution today while helping build the future project management organization as the company scales. *This will initially be a remote role but an in-office presence in Boston will eventually be expected.* Day to day: Own execution of complex engineering and development programs, building and maintaining detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project while managing ~14 interconnected workstreams. Develop integrated plans from high-level program milestones down to detailed task execution, ensuring dependencies, interfaces, and critical paths are aligned. Coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction, manufacturing, and external partners, proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, and schedule impacts. Act as a hands-on individual contributor, partnering closely with senior engineers, contractors, and leadership while helping build the foundation for a future PM department. Must Haves: 10-15+ years of experience delivering large, technically complex engineering, infrastructure, energy, or capital projects on time and on budget. Expert-level project controls and scheduling experience, particularly with Microsoft Project; must be comfortable personally building and managing schedules. Experience managing highly complex projects with multiple stakeholders, interfaces, and dependencies in an engineering-driven environment. Ability to operate at both the program and detailed execution level, influencing seasoned technical stakeholders and driving accountability. Engineering degree or strong technical background, with the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-growing organization. Nice to Have: Nuclear industry experience. Experience with EPC/EPCM contractors, owner/developer organizations, or large-scale capital projects. Background in power generation, oil & gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, shipyards, modular construction, or other highly regulated industries. Experience leading or developing project management teams, with potential to grow into a PM leadership role.
