Position Summary:
We're seeking a seasoned Vice President, Project Development to lead the execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States. This executive-level role requires deep experience in project development, from greenfield origination through construction readiness, with a focus on solar, wind, and energy storage assets. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong commercial and permitting acumen, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic regulatory and technical environments.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the full development cycle for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage, from initial site control through financing and pre-construction.
Oversee permitting, interconnection, land agreements, and other entitlement processes across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.
Direct and coordinate internal departments and external consultants across engineering, finance, legal, and origination teams to ensure project success.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and staffing resources while providing transparent updates to senior leadership.
Participate in negotiating commercial agreements such as PPAs, EPCs, and interconnection contracts.
Identify and mitigate project risks while aligning with evolving market and policy conditions.
Represent the organization with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, landowners, and community groups.
Ideal Experience & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
7-10+ years of experience leading the development of utility-scale renewable energy or power generation projects.
Proven success managing cross-functional project teams and navigating complex permitting and interconnection environments.
Strong financial literacy, including pro forma modeling and understanding of IRR/NPV analysis.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to travel domestically as needed.
