VP Construction - RNG - Remote + Travel

Piper Maddox has been engaged by a leader in RNG project development, specializing in developing, owning, and operating renewable natural gas (RNG) projects sourced from agricultural waste, landfill gas, and wastewater treatment processes across North America.

Seeking a VP of Construction who will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of RNG construction projects across North America. The VP of Construction will manage all aspects of general construction, and project teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all phases of construction, from pre-construction through project completion for multiple RNG projects
  • Ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Review and approve project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Negotiate contracts with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • 10 - 15 years of progressive construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex construction projects, preferably in RNG, oil & gas, or wind generation.
  • Experience managing EPC's and general contractor, procurement, and construction
  • Strong leadership and team management skills across multiple construction projects.

This role will play a crucial part in the early-stages of their sizeable pipeline of utility scale Solar and Battery Storage projects.Our client have been a mainstay in the UK renewable energy market for over a decade, now with operations in multiple global territories. Their current portfolio sits at over 8GW in various stages of development, with a range of TCPA and DCO applications. Some of the UK's largest NSIPs sit within this developer's pipeline, putting them at the forefront of the market.This position will split it's responsibilities across not only site origination, but also in focusing on progressing their existing projects. Therefore it is not your traditional site finding/land acquisition role. You would be involved in the key negotiations and commercial terms relating to the land management process, managing the landowner relationship, and ensuring a smooth handover into the next stage of the development process. These could include: negotiating wayleaves and easements for land access matters, working on the closing and signature of option to lease agreements, as well as the planning and negotiating of suitable substation cable routing matters to ensure a project remains grid-viable amidst changing regulations.
