The Role

This leadership position is responsible for overseeing engineering strategy, quality assurance, and technical execution for large-scale industrial projects. The role will guide the development of engineering plans, optimize plant design, and ensure smooth collaboration between internal teams, EPC firms, and external stakeholders. The Senior Director will be instrumental in advancing the company's expansion efforts, particularly in sustainable aviation fuel production and related industrial processes. This role is fully remote with travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering design and execution for complex, capital-intensive projects from conception to operation
  • Develop technical requirements, engineering KPIs, and performance standards to ensure cost-effective and high-integrity plant development
  • Manage relationships with EPC firms, equipment suppliers, and construction partners, ensuring technical alignment and risk mitigation
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, automation, and civil engineering)
  • Implement best practices in process optimization, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Drive decision-making and continuous improvement in engineering workflows
  • Provide technical leadership on CO₂-to-fuel conversion technologies, gas-to-liquids processes, and related advanced manufacturing methods

Ideal Background & Experience:

  • 20+ years in industrial plant development, particularly in energy, fuels, or chemical processing
  • Experience either/or both EPC firms and owner-operator settings (e.g., major energy or industrial corporations)
  • Technical expertise in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, CO₂ electrolyzers, or complex hydrocarbon processing
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration
  • Familiarity with risk management, construction processes, and commissioning for large-scale projects
