Job Summary:

The company is seeking a skilled Development Engineer to support the technical evaluation and design of commercial and utility-scale solar projects. This role is central to project qualification, proposal development, and technical diligence, working cross-functionally to deliver cost-effective and compliant energy solutions. Ideal for a detail-oriented engineer with strong solar design and project development experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead conceptual engineering design and system optimization for solar projects

* Conduct technical diligence and vet project feasibility during early-stage development

* Support proposals with layouts, SLDs, production models, and cost estimates

* Collaborate with sales, development, estimating, and external partners to align technical solutions with project goals

* Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and utility requirements

* Manage multiple projects with minimal oversight and support contracting phases

* Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices

* Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvement

* Travel to project sites and partner meetings as needed

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field

* 3+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in the solar industry

* Proficient with NEC, AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and estimating tools

* Strong understanding of construction drawings and cost modeling

* Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

* Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

* Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

* Willingness to travel; valid driver's license required
