Role: Sales Manager – Digital Blade Solutions

Location: Southern Europe

A global renewable energy services and technology provider supporting wind asset owners and operators across the full lifecycle. With decades of experience in utility-scale renewables, the business combines engineering expertise, digital innovation, and data-led solutions to improve asset performance, reduce operating costs, and extend turbine lifetime across international markets.

We are seeking a commercially driven Sales Manager to grow our Digital Blade Solutions offering across Southern Europe. The role covers blade inspection services, blade engineering and root cause analysis, corrective and preventative retrofit programmes, and a SaaS-based Blade O&M platform.

A core focus will be scaling adoption of a self-inspection SaaS solution that enables owners and operators to standardise inspections, reduce OPEX by up to 40%, and convert inspection data into actionable engineering and retrofit outcomes.

This is a solution-led sales role requiring strong technical credibility, where digital inspection workflows are translated into repair, retrofit, and life-extension strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy across inspections, engineering, retrofits, and SaaS solutions.
  • Own the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to commercial close.
  • Engage IPPs, utilities, OEMs, renewable funds, and service providers across Southern Europe.
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams to ensure technically robust solutions.

  • Lead commercial activity for:
  • External blade inspections (drone, thermographic, high-resolution imaging)
  • Internal blade inspections (robotic access, structural assessments)
  • Blade engineering and root cause analysis
  • Corrective and preventative blade retrofits targeting structural failure modes and fatigue risk
  • Blade O&M SaaS platform for inspection management, analytics, and decision support
  • Self-inspection technology enabling owner-led inspection programmes

Customer Engagement

  • Run consultative, technically credible sales discussions with engineering, O&M, asset management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Position SaaS tools as operational enablers within broader Blade O&M strategies.
  • Translate inspection data into clear repair, retrofit, and life-extension business cases.
  • Support workshops, pilots, technical reviews, and proposal defences.

Pipeline & Market Insight

  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline discipline via CRM tools.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across inspections, SaaS, and retrofit programmes.
  • Track regional blade failure trends and feed insights into product and engineering teams.
  • Represent the business at customer events and industry forums.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of wind turbine blade structures, failure mechanisms, and inspection methodologies.
  • Experience selling SaaS, inspection services, or technical engineering solutions.
  • Commercial acumen with proven ability to build ROI-led business cases.
  • High digital fluency and confidence positioning SaaS in operational environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent English required; Spanish, Italian, French, or Portuguese highly desirable.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–8 years’ experience in technical B2B sales within wind energy or renewables.
  • Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and growing recurring revenue.
  • Experience working with IPPs, utilities, OEMs, funds, or service providers in Southern Europe.
  • Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
