Piper Maddox are partnered with a leading asset owner in California with over 13 assets and 8GW of power in development and operations. In scaling rapidly, their next phase of growth involves expanding their development team and are looking to bring on another Director of Environmental to keep up with their growing pipeline. Key Responsibilities include: Lead the planning, preparation, submission, and management of environmental permits required to support the development, construction, expansion, and operation of energy and infrastructure projects. Coordinate permitting activities across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory agencies.Develop, implement, and oversee environmental compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Monitor regulatory developments, conduct compliance reviews, and support required environmental reporting and documentation.Direct environmental studies, technical assessments, and permitting strategies during project development and execution. Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to evaluate environmental constraints and develop practical mitigation approaches.Serve as the primary environmental representative with regulatory agencies, consultants, and external stakeholders. Support permit negotiations, facilitate regulatory reviews, and help resolve environmental issues that may impact project schedules or operations.Identify environmental risks, permitting challenges, and compliance considerations across the project lifecycle. Develop strategies to support project schedules, budgets, and long-term business objectives while maintaining regulatory compliance.Partner with development, engineering, construction, operations, and other internal stakeholders to integrate environmental requirements into project planning, execution, and operational activities.Provide leadership for environmental initiatives, manage consultant relationships and project budgets, establish best practices, and promote continuous improvement across environmental permitting and compliance programs.
