The company emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and long-term industry leadership.Job Summary:The company is seeking a skilled Development Engineer to support the technical evaluation and design of commercial and utility-scale solar projects. This role is central to project qualification, proposal development, and technical diligence, working cross-functionally to deliver cost-effective and compliant energy solutions. Ideal for a detail-oriented engineer with strong solar design and project development experience.Key Responsibilities:* Lead conceptual engineering design and system optimization for solar projects* Conduct technical diligence and vet project feasibility during early-stage development* Support proposals with layouts, SLDs, production models, and cost estimates* Collaborate with sales, development, estimating, and external partners to align technical solutions with project goals* Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and utility requirements* Manage multiple projects with minimal oversight and support contracting phases* Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices* Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvement* Travel to project sites and partner meetings as neededQualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field* 3+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in the solar industry* Proficient with NEC, AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and estimating tools* Strong understanding of construction drawings and cost modeling* Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment* Excellent communication and critical thinking skills* Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders* Willingness to travel; valid driver's license requiredBenefits:* Flexible paid time off* 401(k) plan* Performance-based incentives* Fully remote team structure* Collaborative, high-impact work culture* Opportunities to grow within a fast-evolving clean energy company
