London Office Location & Hybrid Working Pattern

Piper Maddox are currently working alongside a leading player in the renewable energy industry to add a Project Development Manager to their team. Our client have been a mainstay in the UK sector for over 10 years and are at the forefront of the clean energy transition with their groundbreaking track record in project development.

This company specialize in the development of both TCPA and DCO level Solar and Battery Storage projects and currently have a multi-GW pipeline in active development. They have exciting plans to add a delivery and construction function to their team in the near future, thus transitioning into a full scale independent power producer.

The crucial consideration in 2025 when it comes to project development hiring in the UK sector, is a company's readiness for the Gate2 submission deadline. This company have had excellent success in the planning market in recent times, so were in a great position for Gate2. You would be coming in to work on a well progressed pipeline in various stages of development, that are set to maintain strong grid connection dates.

You would be joining up with a tight knit and collaborative team who work in a culture that is built off the sharing of knowledge and expertise. Their main focus is on working together to achieve a common goal of project success rather than favoring individual success. Their strong track record can be attributed to this strong team environment.

They are looking to add a Project Development Manager to their team who will be working across multiple projects rather than being dedicated to one specific project. This is because there are some crucial responsibilities included in this role that set this particular position apart.

The first element of this role lies in contributing to project development in key areas such as planning/consents, internal & external stakeholder management, and ensuring project viability on a development and commercial standpoint. These responsibilities could be described as your more "traditional" development tasks.

The second part of this role is what differentiates this particular role. Our client is keen for someone with a strong commercial acumen to assess their current development process across projects and identify where it can be streamlined and optimized. This can apply to timelines, budgets, and general project efficiency. With their significant growth plans, they see their process evolving with their team as an important priority.

This role would be a great fit for you if you have a good background in project development for renewable energy schemes, but also have a track record in improving external and internal processes within the project development lifecycle. Being able to discuss this experience in detail would stand you in great stead for this role!
