Piper Maddox are representing a climate tech company who are expanding into the U.S. and seeking a Director of Sales, North America to lead its commercial efforts. The organization sits in the carbon markets MRV space. 

With strong scientific foundations and a successful commercial launch across Europe, the company has secured significant Series A funding from leading investors and is now bringing its proven model to North America.

Role Overview

The Director of Sales, North America, will be responsible for building and closing a pipeline of high-value enterprise deals across agriculture, carbon markets, and sustainability sectors. This role requires someone who can navigate long, complex sales cycles and thrives in an early-stage, high-growth environment.

As the second commercial hire in the U.S., this person will play a pivotal role in establishing market presence, building customer relationships, and shaping future growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the U.S. go-to-market and sales strategy
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business with enterprise clients ($100k+)
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across Fortune 400 companies and carbon project developers
  • Manage long, consultative sales cycles with technical buyers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between client needs and service delivery
  • Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and customer meetings (travel required)
  • Help lay the foundation for a future U.S. sales team

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience in relevant sectors (e.g., carbon markets, agtech, MRV, sustainability services)
  • Proven track record selling services or solutions valued at $100k+
  • Experience navigating long sales cycles with complex stakeholders
  • Previous success selling into Fortune 400 companies
  • Strong technical acumen and comfort with scientific or data-driven offerings
  • Highly independent, entrepreneurial, and motivated to join an early-stage team
