Founded by former investment banking and corporate finance professionals, the firm combines proprietary trading, multinational procurement, and direct project‑owner relationships to deliver speed, certainty, and liquidity to blue‑chip clients worldwide.

With 30+ professionals globally, strong balance‑sheet backing, and recent Series A investment, the company is scaling aggressively through both organic growth and strategic M&A. The European headquarters will launch in 2025 as part of a broader plan to become a top‑three global environmental‑commodities player within five years.

Role Overview

A fast‑growing global environmental‑commodities trading house is seeking a senior leader to establish and scale its European Markets business. The Head of EU Markets will build and lead a high‑performing regional sales and trading team, drive revenue growth across environmental attribute products, and take full commercial ownership of the EU P&L.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a new regional business within one of Asia’s most rapidly expanding environmental‑commodities players.

The Head of EU Markets will operate with founder‑level ownership of the European business, including:

  • Pricing authority and counterparty limits
  • Discretion over trading strategies within agreed risk parameters
  • Authority to hire and structure the EU team
  • Ownership of supplier and client relationships
  • Influence over global product strategy and expansion priorities

Key Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for EU P&L, revenue, gross margin, and trading performance
  • Lead sourcing, pricing, structuring, and execution across GOs, RECs, I‑RECs, REGOs, voluntary carbon, and emerging compliance carbon markets
  • Leverage global supply relationships and balance‑sheet strength to secure competitive, high‑quality environmental attributes
  • Operate within agreed risk limits while shaping EU‑specific risk frameworks
  • Build long‑term partnerships with multinational corporations, utilities, traders, and project developers
  • Collaborate with Asia and US desks to deliver seamless global execution
  • Establish a strong European presence with a diversified client and supplier portfolio
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a multi‑functional EU team across trading, sales, procurement, and market operations

Candidate Profile

  • 7–10 years in environmental commodities trading or sales
  • Proven ability to generate individual revenue while building a team
  • Leadership of a team with a proven track record
  • Hands‑on experience with GOs, RECs, I‑RECs, REGOs, voluntary carbon
  • Multi‑product expertise across EACs, voluntary carbon, and compliance carbon
  • Corporate procurement or structured origination experience
  • Track record of scaling a team from early‑stage to 10–20+ people
  • Experience in M&A‑driven or high‑growth environments

Strong understanding of renewable energy project development processes, including permitting, environmental review, NEPA, and project milestone management. Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable holding stakeholders accountable to commitments and deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a dynamic development environment.
