Electrical Design Engineer – Power Systems About the RoleAn established organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the development and delivery of complex power system projects. The role will involve electrical engineering and design activities across high-voltage infrastructure, grid-connected energy projects, and associated electrical systems. The successful candidate will bring practical design experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively as part of multidisciplinary project teams. Key Responsibilities Develop electrical designs for high-voltage power infrastructure and associated grid-connected projects.Undertake both primary and secondary electrical engineering, from early-stage concepts through to detailed design.Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, calculations, specifications, and other technical documentation.Carry out or support power system studies, including load-flow, fault-level, protection, and network performance assessments.Develop and review protection, control, automation, monitoring, and communications solutions.Apply relevant industry standards and technical requirements to engineering designs.Support the integration of renewable generation, energy storage, and other emerging technologies into electrical networks.Work closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, and project delivery teams to resolve technical issues and ensure design requirements are met.Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, site activities, and project assessments where required.Review technical documentation and designs produced by internal and external engineering partners.Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, design practices, and technical standards.Maintain awareness of developments in power systems, grid technology, and industry regulations. Essential Experience & Qualifications Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.Professional experience in high-voltage electrical engineering and design.Experience working on power infrastructure, substations, grid connections, renewable energy, or similar electrical projects.Good understanding of high-voltage primary equipment, including switchgear, transformers, busbars, instrument transformers, and associated systems.Experience with secondary systems, including protection, control, automation, and monitoring.Practical experience using power system analysis and simulation software.Familiarity with electrical design and drafting software.Understanding of relevant international electrical standards and grid requirements.Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation.Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Desirable Experience Experience in renewable energy or energy storage projects.Experience with grid connection and network compliance requirements.Knowledge of modern protection and control systems.Familiarity with digital substation technologies and electrical communications protocols.Experience with power system modelling and electromagnetic transient analysis.Previous experience supporting projects through design, construction, testing, and commissioning.Professional engineering registration or equivalent qualification.Additional European language skills would be advantageous. They are looking to bring on a Senior Process Engineer to support plant operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, onsite engineering role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex processes, improving plant performance, and taking ownership of projects from identification through implementation. Key Responsibilities Monitor key process variables, production KPIs, and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and uptime.Troubleshoot process deviations and equipment issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.Develop and maintain PFDs, SOPs, standard work, and other process documentation.Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant optimization, automation, efficiency, and equipment uptime.Support SCADA, PLC, and control systems by reviewing systems, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities for automation improvements.Support process safety initiatives, including PSM, PHA, HAZOP, HAZCOM, and Management of Change (MOC) programs.Participate in the planning and implementation of business and process expansions.Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams while operating independently with a strong sense of ownership.
