Piper Maddox have recently been engaged by an exciting distributed energy start-up that specializes in converting commercial and industrial facilities into grid connected power stations.

Their proprietary software allows customers to optimize assets, ultimately reducing energy consumption, energy costs and facilities the ability to sell excess energy stores.

Together, we are searching for a skilled Power Systems Engineer to join their team.

In this role, you will have a variety of responsibilities including;

  • Completing CAD design work.
  • Partnering with the various electric utilities.
  • Responsible for all retrofit work for existing sites.

The ideal person will have a background similar to the below:

  • A strong educational background (ideally a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or equivalent discipline).
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience. Ideally experience leading power systems work.
  • Experience working directly with the electric utilities.
  • Experience working with Commercial and industrial customers.
  • Background conducting retrofits within existing buildings.
  • Strong understanding of and hands-on experience with protection relays
  • Experience with generation systems, particularly systems integrated into buildings
