Piper Maddox is partnering with a dynamic and growing renewable energy IPP to find a Director of Development to lead project development efforts for wind and solar assets in the Eastern U.S., with a primary focus on PJM and southern MISO states. This role is instrumental in driving successful project execution, managing portfolios, and assessing M&A opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute project development plans to meet critical milestones.
  • Oversee and manage project budgets from inception to COD.
  • Lead all aspects of project development, including permitting, land acquisition, interconnection, stakeholder engagement, and engineering.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Evaluate and conduct due diligence on renewable energy acquisition opportunities.
  • Support project financing, permitting submissions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Travel up to 50% to project sites, company offices, and industry events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a senior development role within renewable energy.
  • Expertise in permitting processes at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Familiarity with development in PJM, MISO, NYISO, and NE-ISO regions.
  • Previous experience in renewable energy development
