Licensing Engineer – Nuclear / Advanced Reactor Programs Position OverviewWe are seeking a Licensing Engineer to support the development and execution of regulatory licensing strategies for advanced energy projects. This role involves preparing licensing documentation, coordinating with engineering teams, and interfacing with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear regulatory frameworks, experience developing licensing deliverables, and the ability to collaborate across technical disciplines. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain licensing documents (e.g., Topical Reports, PSAR, FSAR) in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance and project schedulesCollaborate with system engineers to ensure design documentation supports and substantiates licensing contentInterface with project stakeholders to ensure licensing deliverables meet customer requirements and regulatory expectationsSupport regulatory interactions, including: Pre-application engagementsReviews of submitted licensing documentsRegulatory audits Participate in public meetings with regulatory authorities and stay current on industry developments related to advanced reactors and emerging technologiesContribute to the development and improvement of internal policies, procedures, and standard work processesIdentify opportunities to enhance efficiency and consistency in licensing workflows Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (e.g., Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Physics, Mathematics)Minimum of 5 years of experience in licensing and/or engineering, preferably within the nuclear or energy sectors Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of regulatory guidance such as NUREG-1537, NUREG-0800, and Regulatory Guides 1.70 and 1.206Familiarity with licensing frameworks and industry initiatives for advanced reactor technologiesUnderstanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., ACI, ASME, IEEE, ANS/ANSI) used to demonstrate regulatory complianceKnowledge of licensing documentation requirements, including public disclosure, information withholding, and document control processesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and regulatory informationProven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and contribute to a collaborative work environment Location: Chicago, IL (5 days a week in office)Salary: $100,000 - $140,000
