Role: Junior Asset Manager

Location: London, England (Hybrid Working)

A leading UK battery storage platform is seeking a talented and ambitious Junior Asset Manager to join its growing Asset Management team.

 

The business is a well-established owner, operator, and developer of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the UK. Having successfully delivered some of the country’s largest battery projects, the company is now entering its next phase of growth, backed by significant institutional investment to support the acquisition and construction of a substantial pipeline of new BESS assets.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the renewable energy sector, gaining exposure across both the commercial and technical management of utility-scale battery storage projects.

 

You will support the day-to-day management of operational battery storage assets, working across both commercial and technical disciplines to maximise asset availability, performance, and financial returns.

 

Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of Capacity Market agreements and obligations
  • Assist with Route to Market contract management
  • Analyse route-to-market strategies and commercial opportunities
  • Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory developments
  • Support invoice reconciliation and commercial processes
  • Prepare internal and external commercial reporting

 

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of site service and maintenance contracts
  • Assist with battery service and warranty management
  • Support warranty claims and resolution processes
  • Coordinate asset testing and participation in new market opportunities
  • Monitor and analyse Energy Storage System (ESS) availability and performance
  • Conduct detailed asset performance analysis to identify improvement opportunities
  • Prepare internal and external technical reporting

About the Role San José Clean Energy (SJCE), operated by the City’s Energy Department, is seeking a Principal Manager of Strategic Load to lead engagement with large energy users and help shape innovative clean energy offerings for high-growth customers such as data centers, advanced manufacturers, and EV infrastructure. This role sits within the Account Management, Marketing & Customer Programs Division and reports to the Deputy Director. You will lead customer strategy, rate design input, and large-load acquisition efforts while ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial requirements.
