Piper Maddox are currently supporting a leading international name in the renewable energy sector to hire a crucial leadership position in their UK & Ireland team. Our client has been a mainstay in the Energy industry for a number of decades now, building up a strong presence in multiple continents as a main player in the sector.

Operating as a fully fledged independent power producer (IPP), this company have an excellent track record in the full project lifecycle for large-scale Solar and BESS projects. Alongside the development, construciton, and operation of their assets, they are also adept in structuring PPA's and offtake agreements on the back end of a project making them a truly full lifecycle business.

Specific to the UK, they first established themselves as a leading provider of EPC services, working alongside some of the leading names in the UK renewable energy sector to bring projects from the RTB stage through construction, and into eventual operation. Following in the footsteps of some of their other international territories, they are now adding project development capabilities to their remit.

They are looking to add an experienced leader to their existing project development team based in London. This role will play a leading role in developing and growing their portfolio of Solar and BESS projects in the UK & Ireland from both a greenfield and a commercial perspective. To stay agile within current market conditions, our client is currently developing a greenfield pipeline, alongside M&A acquisitions of new projects.

In this role, you would be responsible for managing a multi-discipliniary team of professionals taking projects through key land, planning, environmental, and grid milestones towards the RTB stage, before handing over to the in-house construction team who will build these proejcts out. On the commercial side of things, you will be responsible for managing budgets & timelines, reporting at board level, as well as playing a key role in M&A transactions on the buy-side.

This role would suit someone with strong experience in the project development and commercial elements of the project lifecycle, ensuring both a project's development feasibilty, but also it's financial/investment feasibility. This role would come with multiple direct reports so leadership expereince is also needed.

You would be joining up with one of the most well established renewable energy companies globally, who have very strong financial stability. In the London office, you would be joining a very collaborative and adaptable culture. While Solar & BESS experience would be preferable, other renewable energy technology experience will be considered.
