Role: Asset Manager

Location: Rome, Italy (Hybrid)

 

A fast-growing renewable energy platform operating across Europe, delivering utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and hybrid energy projects from

development through to construction and operations. Backed by a strong investment base, the business has a multi-GW pipeline, with hundreds of MW already built or under construction and €100m+ deployed into clean energy assets to date. With a lean but highly experienced team of 50+ energy professionals, the focus is on scaling high-quality projects quickly, investing heavily in technology, grid integration, and long-term asset performance — offering candidates the chance to work on large, complex projects while having real influence as the platform continues to grow.

 

Due to recent investment, they've acquired a large portfolio of PV projects across Italy, and are now looking for an Asset Manager to join their team. 

This role is heavily focused on financial performance, contractual management, and value optimisation, ensuring assets deliver against budget, revenue forecasts, and investor expectations across their full lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial performance of operational renewable assets, with full accountability for profitability, cash flow, and budget adherence.

  • Manage P&L, operating budgets, forecasts, and financial models, identifying risks and opportunities to improve returns.

  • Oversee revenue management, including billing, invoicing, reconciliation, and performance versus forecasts.

  • Lead contract management across O&M, offtake, grid, land, insurance, and service agreements, ensuring compliance and value for money.

  • Act as the primary interface with investors, lenders, insurers, and external advisors, supporting reporting and performance reviews.

  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives, negotiating contracts and challenging suppliers to improve margins.

  • Coordinate with technical and operations teams to ensure commercial decisions align with asset performance and availability.

  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reports covering financial, commercial, and operational KPIs.

  • Support acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing activities, including due diligence and handover into operations.

  • Ensure strong governance, risk management, and compliance across the asset portfolio.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in asset management, commercial management, or finance within renewable energy, infrastructure, or utilities.

  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, and cash flow management for long-term infrastructure assets.

  • Proven track record of managing contracts and third-party service providers.

  • Commercially driven mindset with the ability to identify and execute value creation opportunities.

  • Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable working with investors and senior leadership.
